WHAT IS A CHILD PROFILE? - EXPLANATION.

Welcome to John's astrological profile. It is written with the intent of giving parents in particular, and concerned parties in general, an idea of John's character, talents, needs and wants. With this knowledge, help and assistance can be provided which, with a little hope, will point John in the right direction. As this is a very specific Child Profile it requires an accurate birth time. If you do not know the exact time of birth some of the information may not be completely relevant although the overall view will still be valid.

This profile is divided into a number of sections - detailed below - to make it easier to read and understand.

When reading this you will find both the positive and negative qualities of John defined. Most people will be happy to learn about the positive ones, while others may get upset over the negative ones. CONTRADICTIONS will always appear in a person. They are what gives us our uniqueness We have tried to balance all qualities as much as possible so you get a good overview. Some children have wonderful charts while others have difficult charts and this will manifest in their personality.

The 'profile' as outlined here is not set in concrete and can be changed with your help. If the profile is positive you simply support and direct John. Where the profile indicates difficulties for John, guidance, direction and boundaries will be important.

An astrological profile is suitable for any child from about sixteen months and up. That is when he or she will start manifesting the qualities described. If you are having this profile prepared for a newly-born child you will have to wait some time before it begins to make sense and be of value.

Below are the categories covered.

SECTION A - LAYING DOWN THE FOUNDATIONS

1.ESSENTIAL CHARACTER - This profiles the general trends and outstanding characteristics of John's nature, and also makes some comment on the quality of the relationship with the father. However this is not easily defined using Astrology so the section entitled 'Emotional & Feeling Nature' must be considered carefully in tandem with this opening section!

* Between the first two sections which deal essentially with Father & Mother there is a short section on 'The Dominant Parent'. We do not try to make a definitive judgement here but tradition states that the father is externally dominant and the mother is emotionally, or internally, dominant. Make your own judgement as to which parent fits the bill best!

2.EMOTIONAL & FEELING NATURE - This shows how the more passive and sensitive side of the nature is likely to develop and also comments on the nature of the relationship with John's mother.

3.At this point we look more directly at the relationship between John and his mother.

4.PERSONALITY - This is a description of John's physical nature; and also his general approach to the world; the way he sees it; and the way he likes to be seen. For instance, does he wear rose-coloured glasses or does he view the world from behind dark glasses?

SECTION B - FROM TODDLER TO TEENAGER - THE PROCESS OF DEVELOPMENT

1.ASSERTIVENESS -This describes how John makes his presence felt and if he is essentially active or passive. Does he like to push his way to the front, or stay determinedly in the background?

2.FRIENDSHIP & SOCIAL ATTITUDES - This looks at how John will get on with others. For instance, will he be a bit of a loner, have hundreds of friends, or just a few who are useful, and so on.

3.THE POWER OF THE MIND - This describes the approach the child is likely to take towards the intellectual and academic side of life and how he will respond to the rigours of education.

4.MONEY Spendthrift or - This looks at how John will handle the money in his pocket or purse. miser? Such traits establish themselves early and tend to remain with us all our lives.

SECTION C - PREPARING FOR INDEPENDENCE

1.HIGHER EDUCATION & ESTABLISHING VALUES - This section describes how the child, approaching complete independence, lays down the belief and educational framework that will sustain him through his adult life.

2.APPROACH TO DAILY WORKING LIFE - This looks at how John is likely to fare in the harsh world of work. What drive, if any, he has to succeed and how he will deal with the inevitable day-to-day necessities of work.

3.CAREER & AMBITIONS - This final section examines how John might approach the business of how to make his mark on life, and what areas might be the most productive for him as he grows steadily older.

SECTION A

LAYING DOWN THE FOUNDATIONS

ESSENTIAL CHARACTER

The Sun signifies our inner sense of identity, and our will. It is the single most important planet in our birth chart and generally describes what we are seeking to become through the journey of life, or perhaps our 'destiny'.

*Sun in Libra
Despite the fact that Libra - John's Sun Sign - is symbolised by the Scales, John will only rarely achieve a state of balance! In fact, he is likely to be quite the opposite. His mood and opinion will swing first one way then the opposite - then back again - until, in time, a balanced result is obtained. The process of striving for balance can be long, for John will have to explore all the options and consider all the possibilities before coming to a decision.

His god is logic. He will subject everything in life to his reasoning processes, discounting feelings and mistrusting intuition, relying only on rationale. This is not to imply that John will grow into some sort of coldly calculating robot, however. The ruler of his Sun Sign is Venus, a planet whose gentle nature will encourage him to relate and reconcile; to make bridges.

Making bridges can be achieved by words, and John will be the tactful diplomat of the family, achieving much through gentle persuasion and subtle negotiation. He will be skilled at weighing and assessing all the sides of a situation in order to reach a fair result or a judicious verdict. He would make a good counsellor or arbitrator, and do well in public relations or the Law.

But, to John, the most important way of building bridges will be through personal relationships, and Venus will influence him to seek balance through the equalising medium of a partner.

This translates into romantic attraction! John has a very strong need to form relationships, to give and to receive affection, and to 'relate' to another. Through a partner, he will in some way be able to 'validate' himself, and better express his sense of 'self'. He will display natural good taste from an early age, and may develop an interest in interior decoration or design of some kind. He may plump for soft pastels or cool, sophisticated colours for his bedroom, rather than the bright primary colours that children are traditionally supposed to be drawn to.

He will be a likeable and agreeable child, full of grace and charm and a warm, open friendliness. He cannot bear to be 'at odds' with anyone - his need for popularity and the constant approbation of others is paramount, and there will be little he will not do in order to safeguard it.

His desire is to secure peace and harmony at all costs, for he cannot bear discord, the ugliness of confrontation or the responsibility of causing pain, and he may be prepared to compromise his ideals in the pursuit of this. But John is not all 'sweetness and light' for, like everyone else, he has a temper. And although it may be displayed only rarely, you'd be wise to take cover when he gives vent to his anger! Then you'll really know what he's been thinking all these years!

*Sun in 6th
"Dignity Through Labour" could well prove to be his motto. In establishing his own personal identity he will seek to bring the very highest standards to everything he does. But he'll expect appreciation for his qualities - and rightly so. In this way he might be seen as difficult to understand when young because he will be a curious mixture. On the one hand extremely tidy in some things, on the other incredibly messy in others. Very humble at times and very arrogant at others. Those who - like John - have the Sun in the Sixth House, are here to show by example, to streamline, and to improve, and they can sometimes have scant regard for human frailty.

THE DOMINANT PARENT
In this section we are using traditional astrological rules for defining the relationship with the Father In some cases, however, this may well be more applicable to the Mother. Generally, one or other of the parents has the strongest influence in developing a child's approach to the outside world. Traditionally this has been the Father's role, but it could perfectly well apply to the Mother; hence the use of the phrase 'The Dominant Parent'

*Capricorn 10th house
This a very traditional relationship and John expects his father to be the authority in the family. He will look to his father to present an old4ashioned role model and will grow up to express similar attitudes in his dealings with the outside world.

Emotional & Feeling Nature
In this section we shall examine how John relates on an emotional or passive level. This is traditionally associated with the maternal relationship but we have not made such an obvious assumption and the following section should NOT be read as being primarily concerned with the relation ship between mother and child.

*Moon in Aquarius
Astrologically, the Moon describes our responses, sensitivity, our feeling nature, and the unconscious side of our personality. It shows how we will react on an instinctive level. It shows our emotions and these, of course, will be filtered, or coloured, by the Sign in which the Moon falls. Most importantly, the Moon shows our needs. John needs personal space!

He may appear cool and objective, and prefer to distance himself from others. John may seem to be somewhat short on empathy, for he is sympathetic in an understanding rather than a feeling way, and his appreciation of other people's problems tends to be global rather than individual. John cannot handle what he perceives to be any kind of emotional pressure', so he will back off from intimacy. He will make friends easily, and he is honest, reasonable and trustworthy. Although he is by instinct a rebel with a progressive attitude, he can be surprisingly stubborn in his outlook!

*Moon in 11th
The Houses are different compartments of life, different areas of experience, and each House will 'colour' the Moon in a slightly different way. This placement confers many friendships, and widespread popularity. Which is just as well, for John will have a need for what might seem almost a 'second family' of acquaintances and friends - and the family home may be 'open house' for hordes of people! And, although he may sometimes want to spend time on his own, in general his emotional well-being will be dependent on companionship. So, as he grows up don't be surprised if he uses the telephone more than the average child as he busily 'networks' with all his friends. On another note, as he grows up he is likely to exhibit highly democratic and strong humanitarian ideals. Emotionally, he will need a great deal of 'space'.

*MOON opp/sqr Mercury
Emotional difficulties arise for John that inhibit conversation and learning. He feels more than he thinks and is not able to express what is happening so he will tend to worry and become emotionally frustrated. He feels he is not listened to or his ideas are constantly criticised, so he may develop the technique of hiding his feelings. He needs to learn how to express his feelings appropriately and how to think clearly when he is being swamped by strong emotions. At school he may be shy or sensitive about speaking out and, remaining quiet, won't get the attention he needs.

*Moon tri/sext Mars
John is emotionally robust. He has a natural strength that allows him to stand on his own two feet from an early age. He is not an emotionally dependent type at all, nor is he particularly emotionally vulnerable; all of which reflects rather well on his relationship with his mother.

*Moon tri/sext Uranus
John will grow up to show a marked streak of independence while falling far short of the 'loner' category. He is happy with his own company or that of others, and this stems from a healthy aspect in his relations with his mother.

*Moon tri/sext Neptune
John will always be a bit of a 'drifter'. He learns from a very early age that the best way to handle life is by being 'loose'. The relationship between him and his mother is extremely empathetic and not in the least restrictive. This bodes well on the whole, but perhaps just a mite more boundary-defining would do no harm.

*MOON conj/opp/sqr Pluto
For John, life (especially as regards his mother) is based on the idea that if he doesn't push the button first the other person will, and this power complex derives from his relationship with his mother, which he perceives as being about control and manipulation. He may well have things completely out of proportion but that is his prerogative. He will veer from intense charm, to tantrum, to cold, hard-eyed sulk, all in order to get his own way. There is an underlying fear behind all this that can be helped by a lot of reassurance.

MOTHER & CHILD RELATIONSHIP
It is important to understand that the relationship between mother and child is always 'symbiotic'. In other words, the way the mother behaves towards the child and the way the child perceives his mother is so inextricably linked that it is hard to separate the one from the other. Does the mother react to the child or does the child react to the mother? This is perhaps the original 'chicken and egg' question, and in this section we shall try to address this issue.

Independent and head-strong would be two good words to describe how John's mother sees him. John wants to be independent and do most things his own way and his mother will most likely encourage this. He wants freedom and will rebel against his mother if she doesn't give it. His independence should be encouraged, but make sure that clear limitations are put upon him. He is likely to be highly strung and very active; being bored easily he needs to be kept mentally stimulated. Both John and his mother are restless and need variety in their lives if boredom is not to set in. They have more of a mental bond than emotional one and John likes to be treated as a friend, not a child, while his mother will be more like a friend to him than a traditional mother figure.

John is essentially an extremely social creature and from an early age will look to establish a 'network' of friends and not be confined to the family. Indeed, he will probably prefer to see his family, and especially his mother, as friends rather than parents and siblings. It is also true that his mother prefers the slightly more distant and 'mental' approach herself, not wishing to be cast in the traditional 'mum' role. This relationship will encourage John to be highly-independent and to stand on his own two feet from an early age.

PERSONALITY
This section looks at how John views the world and likes to be viewed by others. No matter what our essential nature may be all of us have a 'face' that we put on for public consumption and this section describes that 'face'.

*Aries rising

John's Ascendant (or Rising Sign) is Aries.
With an Aries Ascendant, the ruler of John's chart is the planet Mars, whose nature is to quicken everything it touches. John is likely always to be in a tearing hurry, and may walk with his head jutting forward, as if anxious to get where he's going long before the rest of him.

He is likely to be a bit of a handful when young, since he has a constant need for action, adventure and excitement. He continually seeks challenge and competition, and operates at top speed all the time.

As a child he will be totally fearless. His impulsive (even rash) behaviour is likely to cause a heavy run on bandages and sticking plaster from the First Aid box - facial cuts and bruises are the hallmark of Aries Rising!

John will have a tremendous zest for life. An interest in sport, or vigorous games, should be encouraged, for this will do much to absorb his natural aggression and channel it into assertion. However, he may make a poor team member, preferring one-on-one sports such as fencing or tennis. motor racing may appeal to him, too.

John is likely to have a short attention span and very little 'staying power' when it comes to seeing a project through to completion. This isn't a character defect - it's simply in his nature to be an initiator, an enthusiastic motivator, and that is where his abundant energy is best directed.

*Jupiter in 1st
Those who - like John - have the planet known as the 'greater benefic' in the First House, come into the world sublimely confident and imbued with Jupiter's optimism, faith and enthusiasm. John will be sociable, friendly and generally benevolent, honest and trustworthy with a strong moral code.

It is in Jupiter's nature to exaggerate all it touches and, as a consequence, John may have a commanding physical stature (perhaps running to fat in later years), and is likely to have a 'larger than life' personality. By the same token, when Jupiter is found in the First House of Personality, it can indicate a self-indulgent individual with a tendency to pomposity, and an inflated sense of self-importance.

School should be a happy experience. Regardless of whether or not he has the opportunity to undertake formal Further Education, learning will be a continual - and joyous - process for John who will remain a perpetual student in the University of Life. His thirst for knowledge, and for experience of differing cultures, may lead him on many travels; either in physical terms or through the medium of books. In his later years, John will display the dignity and wisdom that are Jupiter's gifts. He may be seen as a wise and benevolent leader of some kind. He may even have a role to play as some sort of moral, spiritual or philosophical authority. By way of 'return' for his philanthropic nature, he will be blessed with more than his fair share of 'luck' and good fortune.

He will always have the ability to see the 'big picture', for John has unparalleled vision and has his sights set on the farthest horizons. Others may suffer from poverty of aspiration, but not John.

*Saturn in 1st
Saturn's nature is to contract and control, to delay and sometimes deny. When it falls in the First House of an individual's chart, it can indicate someone who is perceived as a reserved and self-contained person, someone who is shy and reluctant to reveal his inner, most private, side. This is Saturn's protective defence mechanism at work, shielding the persona.

John is likely to be a cautious, shrewd, patient and self-disciplined person who will seem wise beyond his years even before he is out of his pram. He will see the world as a somewhat harsh and exacting arena, and he is likely to grow up with an enhanced sense of duty and responsibility.

Hard work will hold no fears for him, however. Indeed, he may consider hardship par for the course, and simply work all the harder to overcome it. And overcome it he will, for no one is more determined, more ambitious and ultimately more successful than someone like John with Saturn in the First House of Self.

But success is unlikely to come early. By far the greatest weight of the Saturnian 'burden' falls on the first thirty years of life, which may be constrained by many limitations.

After this age, though, the individual seems to grow ever younger, rather than older! John will find that the discipline of his early years works to his advantage in later life, when he will find he has earned independence, self-sufficiency, common-sense and an enviable grasp of realism and pragmatism.

Beneath what may appear as a rather stony exterior lies a person just as vulnerable as the rest of us. One thing which John is ill-equipped to deal with is weakness in himself; another is rejection. His defence mechanism (a cool formality, and a proud reserve) may be interpreted as coldness or hard-heartedness, and this may backfire on him, leaving him isolated and alone, or faced with the very thing he is most hurt by rejection. And so, whether or not he will admit it, he will need emotional support and respect for his tender (albeit hidden and denied) feelings if he is not to withdraw altogether and become bitter and cynical.

Status will always be important to him. His calm and stoic expression conceals an ambition for authority, position and, above all, recognition.

*Uranus in 1st
Uranus in the First House indicates a strong urge for personal freedom. Taken to extremes, it can produce eccentricity of character, for the individual strives to underline the difference between himself and others. John may be rather 'odd' as a child - exceptionally restless, easily bored, needing constant stimulus and often kicking against authority. He will expect to go through life untrammelled by the conventions which bind the rest of us.

If other factors in his chart agree, he may display intuitive insight, brighter than average intelligence, even a kind of inventive genius. His thinking will be lateral, and his reasoning processes uncomplicated by considerations of morality, emotion, or the need for moderation.

For such a 'wild card' of a child, he can be surprisingly obstinate. He may also be inclined to selfishness: insisting on his 'right' to personal freedom regardless of the rights of others. He has a strong rebellious streak. Life may be a great deal more agreeable to him as an adult, when he will be less constrained by convention and authority and can, to a greater extent, please himself. He will have many friends, and will perhaps find an outlet for his energies and desire for leadership within groups concerned with reform, humanitarian ideals, the occult, politics, progressive philosophies, electronics and scientific fields.

The tried and tested will be of no interest to John. Nor will routine of any kind. He will have a desire for constant change and excitement, and if there's little or none on offer why, he'll simply make some of his own! The only certain thing that can be said of him is that Life will never be dull for those involved with John!

SECTION B

TODDLER TO TEENAGER - THE PROCESS OF DEVELOPMENT

ASSERTION
In this section we will be looking at the way in which the child finds his way through the rough and tumble of childhood - and later life - without being pushed around by others, the methods and approaches he uses to make sure his own needs are met, and how he deals with the needs of others when they are at odds with his own.

*Mars and the 6th house
Assertiveness does not come easily to John and when he does show this side of his nature it may be difficult for others to understand his reasoning. What causes him upset or hurt tends to be more complex than with most children and the expression of anger more subtle than usual (probably taking the form of a clever use of words - irony will manifest at an early stage). Rarely will he seriously lose his temper but when he does it will be truly extreme.

FRIENDS & SOCIAL GROUPS
In this section we shall be looking at what sort of friends John needs and what he is likely to take to the friendship himself. We shall also look at the way in which he is likely to interact with social groups or whether, for example, he would prefer to be on his own.

*Capricorn 11th house
John will tend to choose friends who are in some way helpful to him. He has a strong need to get on in the world and understands clearly that it is not what you know but who you know that is useful, and he may well put this attitude into action from a relatively early age.

*Moon in 11th
John has quite an open nature and can make friends fairly easily. He will also like to have his friends come home. At the same time, John may well be easily hurt and it might be wise for him to learn that things are often not as personal as he believes them to be.

More on friends and social groups.
John will display a strong desire to tell all and sundry what he is thinking and feeling. This can be productive if he becomes a politician or leader of some kind. He will also be very quick-witted and many people will enjoy this side of his nature. He must, however, be careful not to ride rough-shod over other people's opinions.

THE POWER OF THE MIND
In this section we indicate John's communication and learning skills, his needs at school and requirements for further education. Of particular interest to parents will be how to talk and connect with him!

*Gemini 3rd house
John is a fast learner. Mentally curious and alert, he has a clear and rational mind that allows him to grasp concepts very easily. A tremendous chatterbox, he enjoys playing with words, and he can be very humorous and witty. He is likely to be a skilled mimic. His early years at school will be stimulating, enjoyable - and fun!

More about mental approaches.
Extremely intuitive, remarkably perceptive, John is also obsessively secretive about his innermost thoughts, and so you may never fully fathom this child's mind. Still waters run deep, they say, and John prefers to keep silent about what goes on in his head. His mentality is complex. He can rarely be swayed by sugary sentiment, but he responds to strong emotions. He can be sharp (even cruel) in his speech, and some of his ideas may be considered harsh, yet there is a deep vein of compassion within him

His mental energy is immense. He has great determination and resourcefulness, and can overcome the most enormous obstacles with nothing more than the force of his willpower. At school, his fundamental need for control may lead to power struggles with his teachers and, if thwarted, he may be manipulative and even subversive. He can also be alarmingly obstinate. He takes pleasure from knowing that others can be intimidated by his intellect, and he enjoys playing mind games.

There's nothing wishy-washy about his communicative abilities. Never superficial, but passionate and intense, John can even manage to say "Good morning" in a meaningful way!

John likes nothing better than interacting and relating with others, and enjoys learning from them.

When older, he will seek an intelligent and mentally stimulating partner. He may marry for intellectual companionship and will be drawn to people with whom he can share a meeting of minds. There is also the possibility he may be strongly attracted to a partner who is his intellectual superior, for John never misses the opportunity to learn something new.

Co-operative and easy-going in his dealings with others, his pleasant and charming ways will be a natural asset should he wish to become involved in the fields of public relations, broadcasting, or the arbitration, mediation and counselling services.

John's communication skills are modified in the following manner

*Mercury Opp/Sqr Moon
A child of fluctuating moods, John could benefit from keeping a daily journal, or diary. This will help him to pin down his viewpoint, which he is likely to change more frequently than he does his socks! Identifying a pattern in his thinking will help him come to terms with the wealth of unfocused thoughts teeming in his head.

Observant, and alert to nuance, he takes pleasure in trivial chit-chat, and can gossip away for hours - often to the detriment of what he is supposed to be doing!

*Mercury sqr/opp Jupiter
John is somewhat inclined to make mountains out of molehills and, to make a further topographical analogy, to fail to see the wood for the trees. In other words, he will place undue importance on, let us say, a small detail, with the result that the overall picture may be lost.

He may also be over-confident about his intellectual powers, not appreciating the need to revise or do his homework, for instance! He has an exceptionally able and fertile brain, and prides himself on knowing something about absolutely everything, but the danger of this of course is that, intellectually, he spreads himself too thin. Teaching him to define and focus his attention will be of great benefit to him John is prone to wild exaggeration, and will pepper his conversation with 'thousands' (or even squillions') when he means 'a few'. Knocking-off the noughts from his estimates will give a more realistic idea of the numbers concerned!

*Mercury conj/opp/sqr Saturn
With a strongly cautious side to his nature, John is not a person to speak out before he is sure of all his facts. He would rather say nothing than the wrong thing. Neither is he someone who can easily envisage the broader implications of a situation, for his mind runs on rather rigid and clearly defined lines.

Although he has an efficient and able mind, he may lack confidence in his intelligence. Gaining certificates, and tangible proofs of his intellectual ability will be of great importance to him, although he will never enjoy the process of taking the necessary exams!

*Mercury conj/opp/sqr Pluto
His penetrating and resourceful mind - to say nothing of his phenomenal willpower - combine to ensure that John is a force to be reckoned with! Brutally honest, sometimes harsh in speech, John does not mince his words if he has something to say. He has no time for poseurs, fools, or 'flakes', and can be ruthless in weeding them out from his life.

He is likely to have a secretive side. This stems from his belief that knowledge is power, and he doesn't want other people to think they know what makes him tick. They might use that power to control him, you see, and that would never do. If anyone is going to do the manipulating, John is determined that it will be him!

EARNING & SPENDING MONEY
In this section we shall look at how John is likely to develop in terms of his attitude towards the acquisition and expenditure of money.

*Taurus 2nd house
John will display a patient and hard-working approach to earning his living, and accumulating money. Security, to him, will always be a large credit balance in the bank. And, although he is unlikely to fritter his money away, he will certainly enjoy spending money on the little luxuries of life.

More in formation concerning John's attitude towards finances.
John is likely to be careful with his money, and follows the precept: "Look after the pennies, and the pounds will take care of themselves". He will be organised and exacting in his financial affairs. Never spending lavishly or recklessly, he will budget for what he wants to acquire, and insist on value for money.

John will always retain a thoroughly meticulous approach to his finances and subscribe very much to the old adage, 'take care of the pennies and the pounds take care of themselves'. Of course if you take your eyes of the pounds altogether they can get lost - no doubt a lesson he will be forced to learn.

SECTION C

PREPARING FOR INDEPENDENCE

HIGHER EDUCATION & ESTABLISHING VALUES
In this section we shall examine how John is likely to find his place in society as he grows older. What standards he will set for himself and what he values. This will probably not become clear until John has reached at least the puberty stage.

*Sagittarius 9th house
John is a natural student and philosopher. He will be learning and expanding his knowledge all his life and he will do this either formally through institutions or more informally through travel and experience.

More about philosophy and further education.
John will expand his understanding of life, and find the meaning of his place in the Universe, through practical experience. His underlying philosophy is based on the natural laws of nature. The need for material security will temper his attitude to higher education, and so he will probably view it in terms of an investment likely to offer a good return.

John will see education, as he gets older, as a way of proving himself in the outside world. If he chooses to go for further education he will wear it like a badge and expect recognition for his achievements.

This section is especially concerned with John's inner values.

*Jupiter opp/sqr Mercury
Somewhat over-confident of his intellectual abilities, - John may assume he knows more than he actually does, and often promises more than he can deliver. Prone to exaggeration, and to making sweeping generalisations, he may lack a sense of proportion. As he grows older he may also display a kind of inner nervousness as if he is not always completely certain of his own inner worth.

*Jupiter conj/opp/sqr Saturn
John is likely to meet certain obstacles during his lifetime, and these must be tackled and overcome before he can develop. For instance, a pessimistic streak may prevent him from recognising opportunities, or he may lack the confidence to take advantage of them when he does spot them. Rigidity of thought may inhibit flexibility of aspiration.

John is likely to establish his own personal belief system based on the idea of constant change. He will always feel that any established system, his own included, should be regularly replaced to prevent rot setting in. In this sense he has what might be termed a revolutionary streak.

APPROACH TO DAILY WORKING LIFE
This section will look at how this child may approach the thorny problem of working for a living. Naturally this will not to show until his teenage years, but as with everything else, forewarned is forearmed and there will always be ways to produce the most positive outcome!

*Leo 6th house
John may choose to work with children, or in some field where his creative expression can have an outlet, such as in the entertainment industry.

*Sun in 6th
John will express his individuality through service to others and by doing the best possible job he can. And he will have every reason to take pride in the work he does (whatever it may be) for he will be systematic, organised and highly efficient, concerned with the smooth running of his daily life and tasks. His contribution to society is extremely valuable and, although his role in life may not be ultra-glamorous, it will be utterly essential and worthy of respect.

*Venus in 6th
"If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing well". This is John's attitude to work. He will carry out every task, every function - however dull and mundane - to perfection, and will take a great deal of satisfaction from bringing order out of chaos. His eye for beauty will lead him to make his working environment as attractive as possible, and he may choose to work in the fashion world or in interior design.

*Mars in 6th
John will put energy and enthusiasm into his tasks - so much so, that he may run out of steam before he's finished. He will be at his best initiating new projects and motivating others to carry them out. He is suited for work requiring precision or mechanical ability, and he might do well as a trade union leader.

*Neptune in 6th
John may find it hard to discipline himself to routine work and may experience periods of unemployment. Finding a congenial occupation could take some time, but he is best suited to working in the healing arts, or behind the scenes in a large organisation or institution.

More about John's likely approach to working life.
John could use his innate knowledge of psychology, and his deep perception, to good effect in his employment and he would be well-suited to counselling. He would also enjoy the role of 'trouble-shooter' in some field, for there is no one better at crisis management than John. He has a talent for handling other people's money and financial affairs. He might also be drawn to forensic science.

John's greatest strength as an employee lies in his ability to relate to people. This, coupled with his communication skills, could fit him for the work of a counsellor or arbitrator, and would make him the ideal person to work in a marriage bureau! His strong aesthetic sense could be put to productive use in for example, interior decoration.

More about possible career approaches.
John is well aware that what he wants from life must be paid for, and that there is no such thing as a free lunch. Because financial security is so important to him (in his eyes, his status is very closely linked to his bank balance), he is prepared to work extremely hard in order to achieve his goals and acquire material possessions.

However, once having made his money, he may be reluctant to part with it! More than anything he fears poverty and consequent financial dependence, and what he will see as the lessening of his importance. However, if John can learn to value not just his money-making skills but other facets of his character, he should be able to avoid the extremes of materialism which this astrological placement can sometimes imply.

The strongly ambitious side to John's nature will make him want to succeed in life. His managerial abilities and sense of responsibility would fit him for working in the business world, where he will structure his moves so that he is both professionally and socially recognised.

This concludes John's Astrological Child Profile.
